Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, ThefiveWs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Faith Comes By Hearing, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:43, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ThefiveWs. I've added the above template to your user talk page after seeing your question at Wikipedia:The Teahouse#Incorrect alerts on Wikipedia page Faith Comes By Hearing. I realize that you not made any edits as of yet (at least not with this particular account) to the article Faith Comes By Hearing, but the above template is only intended to provide you with some basic general information about some Wikipedia policies and guideline which may specifically apply to you. As pointed out by 331dot in their response to your question, you most likely are going to be considered to have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest with respect to anything written about FCBH on Wikipedia, and this may even extend to some sort of "financial COI" as well. Even though Wikipedia doesn't expressly prohibit COI editing, it does highly discourage it because it can lead to some serious problems. The above welcome message contains blue links to pages where you be able to find out more about the kinds of things that Wikipedia expects from COI editors; so, please take the time to look at them because doing so may save you some problems down the road. I also suggest you take a look at Wikipedia:Ownership of content because the subjects of articles don't "own" the articles or have any sort of final editorial control over the content contained therein. If you have any questions after reading through these pages, you can ask them at the Teahouse or at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard. If would also be a great help if you could pass this information on to others at FCBH to make them aware of it as well. Thanks. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:57, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ThefiveWs, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Deana Day (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:45, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Appears you have two accounts (Deana Day, ThefiveWs), but have only edited the article in question with the first. Going forward, please use only one account for all of your editing. David notMD (talk) 03:40, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Alerts

[edit]

The alerts you mentioned in the Teahouse are only visible to you, although they usually pertain to things others can see, such as your Talk page or your sandbox. You can place your COI declaration at the top of your Talk page.--Quisqualis (talk) 05:28, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have put content on your User page that does not belong there. A User page is for a description of you and your intentions as an editor. Article-like content belongs in your Sandbox or a draft article. I recommend you copy everything you have on your User page and paste that into your Sandbox. There is a strong chance that an editor will see your current User page and implement a speedy deletion. David notMD (talk) 23:02, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can go forward with just using one account. The usual process is to create a draft and submit it to Articles for creation (AfC). There, in days to months a reviewer will decide to accept or decline. David notMD (talk) 23:05, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
